Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

This policy explains what personal data The Whole Damn Show ("we", "us") collects, why, and your rights. We're based in the United States and act as the data controller. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.

What we collect

Account data: your email, name, and a securely hashed password.
Payment data: handled by Stripe — we store a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status/plan, but not your card number.
Your content: scripts, blocking, cues, and productions you create.
Technical data: your approximate country (derived from your IP address, to show prices in your local currency) and basic logs needed for security and to keep the Service running.

Why we use it (legal bases)

To provide the Service (contract): your account, content, and subscription.
Legitimate interests: securing the Service (e.g. rate-limiting abuse), showing region-appropriate pricing, and basic operational logging.
Legal obligation: keeping records required for tax/accounting on payments.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share only with providers that help us operate: Stripe (payments), and our own email infrastructure to send you account emails (verification, password reset, billing). The geolocation lookup for currency uses your IP via a third-party lookup ([ipapi.co]); it isn't used to track you.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies/local storage — needed to sign you in and keep the app working. We don't run advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your account and productions. We may retain limited payment/transaction records where required by law (e.g. tax). Logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy of it (portability), or object to certain processing. You can delete your account and its data yourself from Settings, or contact us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority [in France, the CNIL].

Security

Passwords are hashed, payments handled by Stripe, and access to the Service is protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures and you can export your work at any time.
